Not every dog needs shoes or socks, but they can help in many situations: protecting paw pads, guarding against hot summer asphalt, preventing slips on wooden floors, outdoor activities, supporting grip for senior dogs, and keeping dogs safe during disasters. Many owners actually use them "to protect my dog's paw pads" and "to enjoy walks and outings with peace of mind."
We recommend considering them based on your dog's age, living environment and individual needs.
For more on how they can be used and their benefits, see our detailed guide here. → Why Your Dog Needs Shoes

The main purposes of putting shoes on a dog are as follows:
- Paw Protection (preventing injuries, dryness, and inflammation)
- Disaster Prevention & Emergency Preparedness (protecting paws from glass shards and rubble)
- Heat & Cold Protection (protecting against hot summer road surfaces, winter frost, and snow-melting agents)
- Anti-slip & Grip Support (stable walking on hardwood floors or outdoors)
- Support for Senior Dogs (reducing joint strain and preventing falls)
and much more. Our customers use dog shoes in many ways to care for their dogs' paw pads, legs and hips. Please also see our Customer Reviews.

You can select the target size by measuring the back length, height, chest girth, and waist girth. For details, please refer to the [size chart] on the product page.
-
For Pawtect, the size is indicated on one side of the upper inner tube.
For Inutabi, the size is printed on the back of the PETs ADVANCE logo tag on the left shoe.
For Inukutsu and Sanpogutsu, the size is indicated on the reverse side (rubber sole part).
-
Inutabi come as a left and right pair, and the PETs ADVANCE tag is on the left one.
We have put together 3 playlists on the official YouTube channel on how to put on Inutabi. Please check them from [here].
-
While some people put them on by themselves, it seems that many owners work in pairs until they get used to it. Please check [here] for instructions on how to put on Pawtect. We also offer "Pawtect Tool," a dedicated tool that allows you to put on Pawtect even by yourself, so please make use of it.

Dog shoes and socks are consumable items. Just like human shoes where heels and sneaker soles wear out, dog shoes and socks can also wear out or tear.
Although it varies greatly depending on the product and usage environment, we generally guide customers with about 2 to 3 months as a rough guideline. While some dogs use them for over a year, others with long walk times and certain environments replace them every month.
Rubber sole types are more durable and recommended for dogs with strong gripping power, but because the sole touching the paw pads is hard, they may be difficult to fit and some dogs may take time to get used to them.
-
Purposes include preventing slips indoors, counteracting licking habits, protecting against the cold, and preventing scratching on furniture or inside cars.
Some dogs also start with socks for indoor practice in order to wear shoes in the future (towards getting used to shoes).
-
Dog socks are designed for indoor use.
Since they are knit products, using them outdoors may cause them to tear quickly, so please refrain from outdoor use.
-
Please choose dog shoes with soft soles that fit your dog's paw pads comfortably. Among PETs ADVANCE products, a great many dogs choose "Inutabi", which are easy to put on and rarely come off, as their first shoes. "Pawtect", which fits snugly to a dog's feet, is often chosen to help dogs get used to walking in shoes and to support grip. And "Sanpogutsu", with rubber soles suited to outdoor use and disaster preparedness, is our recommendation for large dogs and other dogs with a strong grip.

This is because some dogs have different sizes for their front and back paws. Although it depends on the dog breed, physique, and individual differences, medium-sized dogs and larger often have larger front paws and smaller back paws. When considering dog shoes, please measure the sizes of both the front and back paws respectively.
See the shoe size charts for PETs ADVANCE products on [each product page]
-
It is better to wear all 4 shoes for heat and cold protection, but for measures such as paw licking prevention or supporting the grip of senior dogs, some people only put them on the front paws or back paws.
We hope you can adjust whether to use all 4, only front, or only back paws depending on the purpose of wearing shoes. However, from the perspective of walking balance and getting used to shoes, we do not really recommend wearing shoes on only one paw.
-
While they inevitably walk in a strange way until they get used to them, if you choose the size and shoes that suit that dog, many dogs get used to them in about 30 minutes (one walk) and walk as usual. Please try having them wear the shoes in a familiar environment (usual walking route or indoors at home) until they get used to them.
Also, if they are too big (feeling loose), the dog might mind them and never get used to them, so please also check if the size is correct.
See the shoe size charts for PETs ADVANCE products on [each product page].

Since dogs have high adaptability, we think many dogs will gradually start walking and get used to them.
